Project Objectives
The Boston Comment project aims to develop a new app that allows users to see food products from diversified restaurants, get the best food recommendations, three-dimensional online restaurants' visits, make new friends, and order food delivers from the comfort of their homes. The app focuses on the Boston area. The primary objectives of the Boston Comment app are to ensure fast food deliveries, enable Boston residents to get the cheapest food from a restaurant and experience excellent shopping and entertainment services (Patel, 2015). The app will also allow people to make friends, particularly those sharing similar food interests and flavors. The following are the objectives of developing the Boston Comment app successfully:
To determine customers’ food preferences and make proper recommendations for quality, cheapest, and easy to deliver products.
To validate the functions of three-dimensional online visits.
To complete and launch the Boston Comment app on time.
To provide profit data report of the project.
Project Milestones
Phase #1: Gathering Requirements
The first project milestone was on 31st January 2021 and involved a group meeting to brainstorm the necessity of the Boston Comment app. Members discussed the need that the app was supposed to fulfill and the services that it should provide. Moreover, they finished developing the initial plan of the app and came up with a work breakdown structure (WBS) that showed the relevance of all segments. On 2nd February 2021, the second milestone was achieved, researching similar products in the market. After researching Yelp and Google, members realized that the primary advantages of such apps include rating merchants, discussing shopping experiences, and submitting food reviews (Kaur, Dhir, Talwar, & Ghuman, 2021). The disadvantage was that users could fake their comments. The user survey was the third milestone that happened on 4th February 2021. Members developed survey questions to understand the type of app that customers want and whether they are satisfied with the available app version or not.
