Biology basis of anxiety
Anxiety, unlike fear does not have a specific origin or source. However, it appears to originate from the limbic system of the primitive brain. Blood flow to the cerebral cortex or limbic brain increases due to anxiety. Dysphoric comes when one realizes the reason for their anxiety. Low anxiety is useful, but as it progresses, it causes dysfunction. The following are the four levels of anxiety: mild, moderate, severe and panic.
Coping with anxiety
People cope with anxiety differently, sometimes depending on experiences. It can be adaptive or even maladaptive. Resilience is the ability to withstand stress and recover from it. It differs from people to people. Resilient people have the following characteristics: optimism, humor, altruism, moral values, faith and spirituality, having a role model, social support, training and facing fear, having a mission (Chapter II).
