- Please read the following passage from Achebe¡¯s Things Fall Apart: As the man who had cleared his throat drew up and raised his machete, Okonkwo looked away. He heard the blow. The pot fell and broke in the sand. He heard Ikemefuna cry, My father, they have killed me as he ran towards him. Dazed with fear, Okonkwo drew his machete and cut him down. He was afraid of being thought weak. (61) - Having read the above excerpt, think about an argument research paper you could write in which you would analyze the above excerpt as a part of your argument. Now generate a thesis that is broad enough to produce a 10 ¨C 12 paper. Remember that a thesis statement starts as a question that you ask yourself about the text; it then morphs into a one-sentence statement.
