A New Adventure for Beowulf
The first monster that Beowulf may face is Grendel. Briefly, Grendel menaces the Hall of Heorot, its master King Hrothgar, and his men. This villain stalks the moors, and attacks the hall at night, destroying Hrothga’s men. No one can stop him. Hrothgar, the ruler of the Danes, is troubled by rampages of the villain, Grendel. Every night, this monster attacks Hrothgar’s wealthy mead-hall, Heorot, killing and eating Danish warriors. Hrothgar was a powerful warrior during his time, but he has now turned old and cannot protect his people. Fortunately, Beowulf, a young great warrior travels to Heorot Hall from overseas to help Hrothgar. On arrival, Beowulf explains to King Hrothgar that he has travelled to help him fight the monster because Hrothgrar helped out his father. Beowulf offers to face Grendel himself, an offer that is granted by the king.
The next time, Beowulf waits to fight Grandel at Heorot Hall, as this monster prepares to attack the Hall. Beowulf wrestles the demon into submission. Eventually, he tears off the villain’s arm at the shoulder. The monster becomes mortally wounded, flees into the wilderness and dies. In return, Hrothgar gives Beowulf numerous presents and treasures as a reward to his heroic defeat of Grendel, the devil.
