Introduction
Everyone aspires to grow into a highly effective individual. People associate effectiveness with success in both their personal and professional lives. Becoming an effective person is no easy feat, but certain can pave the path to this much-sought vision. It involves seeking solutions that benefit everyone. In simple terms, it means adopting a think win-win mindset.
According to Stephen Covey, the think win-win mindset is one of the six paradigms of human interactions. Out of the six paradigms, it is the only real alternative in interdependent realities. Over time, our interests become intertwined with the benefits of other people. (Covey ,1989).  
Reflection on a Win-Win Mindset
In my efforts to become an effective person, I am trying to adopt a win-win mindset. Growing up in this society, I became conditioned to associate my success with others' progress. I could only win if I surpassed someone else. It was a toxic mindset for me and was built on the concept that the only way to succeed is by the loss of others. The win-win outlook has changed my point of view and broadened my horizon. This new perspective has allowed me to focus on myself and my growth. I have stopped comparing my progress with others, which has enabled me to work more efficiently.  
A win-win mindset has brought out a new sense of maturity within me. I have begun to understand that to succeed and have healthy relationships; everyone needs to flourish. Whether it be my personal or professional life, I have started to opt for solutions that result in the most mutual benefits rather than my sole advantages. It has significantly improved the overall standard of my life (Weekplan, 2019).
The win-win outlook on life will help me become a better team player. Instead of focusing on my progress, I can focus on others around me. It will help to improve my ability to understand different scenarios and perspectives. The insight gained will allow me to respond to sudden changes in an appropriate manner. The quality of my responses will increase and be more creative. The outlook will open my mind to different possibilities, which will help in developing more innovative solutions.
