Apollo 13 refers to an American docudrama movie that was released in 1995. Indeed, its director was Ron Howard. The film documents the thirteenth Apollo lunar mission that happened in 1970. However, a significant problem occurs that hinders space exploration from being successful.
When three astronauts were headed to the moon, the oxygen tank exploded, and Fred Haise (Bill Paxton), Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon), and Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks) were in danger. Specifically, they cannot survive without oxygen in the spaceship. If the remaining oxygen in the spacecraft becomes depleted, carbon dioxide will accumulate and poison them, causing death (Tunzelmann, 2014). As such, for the three astronauts to survive, they must enter the Earth’s atmosphere at the right angle. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) flight controllers are forced to abort the mission and try to get Swigert, Lovell, and Haise home safely.
