Lost and found property is subject to different forms of property rights depending on the circumstances surrounding it, particularly in relation to the rightful owner. By law, lost property can fall under the four main categories: mislaid, abandoned, lost, or Treasure Trove. Of all the cases, except for lost property, the rightful owner of the property deprives themselves of the ownership of the property with their conscience, and therefore the finder’s ownership rights supersede everyone. However, in a case where the true owner claims the property, he or she is entitled to the ownership outright. For the case of Grande v.
