The proceeding in a courtroom is founded on efforts from various personnel in the setting. It takes the contributions of the personnel independently and dependently to successfully and efficiently manage the proceeding. The bailiff, clerk, and courtroom reporters are among the key staff in the courtroom who facilitate effective hearing.
Bailiffs are personnel within the court premise charged with the obligation to attend the courts, maintain order, wait on the juries and perform other necessary duties as directed by judges or marshal. Few of the bailiffs remain in service to the federal justice system. Their duties have been assumed in most courts by courtrooms, deputies, and working under the clerks' supervision (Titus, 2019). Court clerks engage in managerial obligations in the criminal justice system. They help other personnel in the court, including the judges and lawyers. A court clerk operates in district level, a court of appeals, bankruptcy and Supreme Court. They often uphold the records from the sessions, administer pledges to the witnesses and adjudicators, and validate the court instructions and decisions with the seals (Lindell, 2010). Court reporters play essential roles in the sessions records that demand the exact account of what was said. The reporters are accountable for comprehensive, accurate, and protected legal transcripts of the courtroom records, witnesses’ proofs, and confessions (Uka, 2019). Court journalists in the legal environment help the judges and lawyers capture, organize, and produce the sessions' official record. These records allow the users to look for the important data in the transcripts.
