The role of a faculty from the academic setting perspective is always diverse because they have various responsibilities to meet as they contribute to the institution's long-term success. For example, faculties ensure smooth classroom coaching, student academic counselling and advising, involvement in departmental committee-related works, constant curriculum improvement via assessments, applied scholarly actions or research, etc. A faculty's duties require the usage of tools, activities and systems, which are utilized to consolidate, process, and, most importantly, utilize information within the academic institution involved (Abdullah et al., 2020). Therefore, an all-inclusive academic information system plays an inevitable role in an academic setting such that its absence limits performance within the specific faculty. Most importantly, the faculties need these academic information systems or tools to track different faculty-related information. They may need to track student performances, enrollments, research interests, appointments, etc.
Since the information systems that a faculty uses in administering its duties are helpful during the recording, review, assessments, and promotion, including faculty reporting and searching activities, it is critical for the institutions involved to regularly revise data in their systems. Secondly, fairness lacks significantly when these systems don't exist. Tracing information in this platform, which is increasingly transparent across the institution, encourages increased fairness. Faculty staff input their information into the system, permitting power over their data, including providing visibility into their achievements to their coworkers and department chairpersons. Thirdly, the faculty requires comprehensive academic information systems because they are efficient tools for collecting and compiling information relating directly to faculty members' specialities.
