The transition of the society to a digital system has brought about rapid increase in the use of data, which is making it harder for individuals and organizations to keep all of their crucial data and programs running on their personal computers and servers. The solution that most are turning to is cloud computing. It allows for users to access vast amounts of data over a secure online network connection. This text explores some of the advantages of cloud computing and some recommendations for improving the security and privacy of cloud computing.
An example of a company that uses cloud computing is IBM. It provides a virtualized computing infrastructure over the internet where one can perform various types of projects. IBM servers are very fast depending on the cloud type and can accommodate projects of huge sizes. Dropbox is another company that uses cloud computing. Its users can share large amounts of files with one another. It also provides cloud storage services where small businesses and customers can store files in remote cloud servers and access the saved data from any device through an internet connection.
