The only people who played the sport in the past were royalty and a few commoners, but today it is played all over the world, with an annual tournament. Although the popularity of this sport has fluctuated throughout the years, it is presently supported by an extensive global fan base. In this essay, the author will examine tennis's historical development and the key events that shaped the sport into what it is now.
Tennis has a very long history, beginning in the 12th century, primarily in France. The game's original name was "jeu de paume," or "game of palm," because it was initially played with bare hands until substantial rule changes were made.
