A well-organized essay has a beginning, middle, and an end. The beginning, or introduction, should include an opening sentence to grab your reader’s attention. Follow the opening sentence with a very brief background on the story to be discussed. Be sure to always include author’s full name in the introduction of the essay. After that first instance, only the surname is used. The last sentence of the introduction is the thesis statement. The thesis states the main point of the essay, which in this case, would be a literary analysis of the short story.
A well-supported essay includes supporting points, details, and examples. For this essay, you must decide the best way to organize the body of the essay. For example, the body of the essay may be divided into paragraphs addressing character, symbolism, and theme. In any case, each body paragraph must support (explain) your interpretation (analysis) of the short story. Each body paragraph should begin with a topic sentence that states the main point of the paragraph.
The conclusion typically summarizes the main points of the essay and/or closes with a lasting impression that connects the reader to their world. You may wish to offer a reason as to why the short story is still read in educational settings after so many years or why the story’s themes are especially topical in our society today.
Be sure to proofread your essay and edit for proper grammar, punctuation, diction (word choice), and spelling, as errors in sentence skills will lower a final grade. A grade will be determined based on the Module 2 Case expectations and the Trident University General Education rubric for English found in the course syllabus.

In the wild, most animals choose their mates based on who is the best fit for their group, much as humans have always been drawn to beauty. This kind of attraction that people have may be traced back to their ancestors. Since ancient times, animals have chosen their partners based on genetic compatibility since it increases the likelihood that their species will survive. The same holds true for humans, who frequently base their marriage decisions on a person's face due to their favorable genetics. Humans are constantly seeking beauty's perfection and struggle to find contentment.
The novel's central theme is the human fascination with beauty and perfection, much to the well-known author Nathaniel Hawthorne's book The Birthmark. In the tale, Aylmer, a great scientist, takes time away from his lab to wed Georgiana, a nearly ideal woman. Georgiana is a beautiful woman who can be described as ideal, but she has one flaw that Aylmer wishes he could fix: the birthmark on her left cheek. When the scientist's wife drank the potion, her birthmark eventually vanished, and shortly after that, she died. However, throughout the scientist's effort to find a remedy that would remove his wife's birthmark, they encountered numerous conflicts.
People in the modern world have access to a vast range of knowledge, and daily learning and fact-finding are ongoing processes. As individuals in today's world learn new things about life, their perspectives and worldviews also grew more open, and they stopped accepting impurities and differences. As of today, body shaming is regarded as equally harmful as racism because many naturally occurring human physical imperfections have been normalized and are no longer subject to discrimination against either men or women. In the past, girls with these types of physical flaws have typically hidden them out of fear of discrimination. Still, today they display them loudly and proudly, which is a positive development because it demonstrates that they are true to themselves. Additionally, people with the same flaws now have someone to turn to in order to maintain their strength in life.
