After watching the final Soccer FIFA World Cup game of 2014, where Germany beat Brazil, considered the best-skilled team in the world, 7-1, I can say that sports are a religion. The fans' reactions, the disappointment, the energy, and the event make sports a religion. This was the second time Germany and Brazil met in the finals; in 2002, Brazil beat Germany 2 to 0 goals. From the start of the Brazil-hosted game, Brazil is seen as the force of good and Germany as evil. The teams' uniforms reflect this, with the Brazilian members wearing their iconic yellow shirts and blue shorts and Germany their black and red jerseys. Even though the uniforms reflect the countries' flags, there is a sense of good and evil. Sports are a religion as the symbols, attire, events, and fandom are similar to many other religions.
