Gauss was a mathematician from Germany who made huge strides and visible contributions in mathematics and science (Evans, 2015). He has been referred to as the foremost and greatest of all mathematicians. Gauss has been ranked as one of the most influential mathematicians in history. Gauss is regarded as one of the most influential mathematicians in the history of mathematics due to their numerous contributions in mathematics. He was incredibly passionate about the number theory. Gauss relevantly put forward an assertion that mathematics stands to be the queen of all sciences, and the number theory can be referred to as the queen of mathematics (Evans, 2015). He worked with complex numbers that involved the combination of both real and imaginary digits/numbers.
Gauss was among the first mathematicians to graphically interpret complex numbers. He popularized interpreting complex numbers and introduced standard notions for complex numbers (Evans, 2015). Due to his efforts, the complex numbers theory expanded notably and gained a vast potential to be unleashed. Gauss proved the fundamental algebra theorem just at the age of twenty years. At twenty-four years, Gauss published a book known as 'Disquisitiones Arithmeticae,' which stands to be the most influential mathematics book that has ever been written (Evans, 2015). The book laid a clear and solid foundation for the development of the modern theory of numbers.
