Introduction
The western concept of art is the portrayal of people, landscapes, and history confined to the region of the west. The variation in artist's style is visible where they revealed the by using various techniques, forms, and techniques used in art history. Historical artists were able to use religion and other inspirations to help create significant visual art. The estimation of the age of any art is by considering the historical evidence, the style or movement of the art, the visual evidence, and the physical records of the art. This essay will explore three artists' works and their contrast in style and elements across nature and regional representation. These works were in the modern period, but each had a different representation of their ideas. The works include; "Jimson weed" by Georgia O'Keefe, "American Gothic" by Grant Wood, and the "New York, Early Twenties" by Thomas Hart.
Comparison
“Jimson Weed” is an art piece by Georgia O’Keeffe done in 1936. The artist was well known for her use of rhythmic light and shade to depict flowers and their simple beauty (Chandra et al., 2016). She has a keen interest in the jimson weed and portrayed this on oil on linen masterpiece to show the tight placement of the four flower blossoms. Her style was the use of color contrast to pain nature. She was able to use lines to show an interesting perspective of the flower. Her work revealed the creation of art based on the design, personal style, and interpretation of the subject.
