1. Watson's theory of human caring emphasizes the importance of compassion, empathy, and relationship-building in nursing care. Watson proposes that nurses who engage in these behaviors can foster healing and growth in patients (Pajnkihar et al., 2017). An example of applying Watson's theory in a care setting could involve a nurse sitting with a patient and listening to their concerns rather than simply focusing on the medical tasks. By doing this, the nurse establishes a connection with the patient and demonstrates empathy and respect for their well-being.
2. Leininger's Cultural Care Theory emphasizes the importance of understanding and responding to patients’ cultural needs to provide culturally congruent care.
