The p value is <0.05 when allergies is the predictor value, and changes of the independent variables are related to the attribute.
Confounding
A confounding variable is associated with exposure (risk factor) and disease (outcome), but this is not part of the causal chain that links exposure-disease relationship (Jager et al., 2008). Family history diabetes, gender, age, race, and income are confounders in influencing the BMI levels in the first equation. In many cases, the primary confounders fall the categories of maternal/ child characteristics, socioeconomic status and environmental exposure (Nurmatov et al., 2012). In the second equation with allergies as the outcome the confounders are family history, allergies, gender, age, race, weight.
