A Healthcare security system refers to the guidelines, rules, and standards set for administrative, technical, and physical procedures of handling patients’ health information. According to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Privacy Rule-, protection of privacy of personal health information tends to be prioritized such as Insurance information, medical records, or other confidential details (Griffin& Elliot, 2009). Notably, security plays a vital role in a health care setting such that a health record tends to be protected from unauthorized use; notably, this balancing act might be challenging to handle. On several occasions, the more a system is secured, the more restricted access to that system becomes. This paper’s primary connotation is to explore the health care security system and provide a fact-based argument about a situation where this balancing act might create conflict within a clinical setting and how health care administration could manage the disputes.
An efficient Security system involves various steps to prevent unauthorized users from accessing health care data, or information. Therefore, having a secured system tends to incorporate vital actions to ensure confidential information is safe from unauthorized users. However, the balancing act of providing access to health care providers and limiting unauthorized individuals tends to be challenging to manage such that conflicts are likely to occur within a clinical area.
