It states that nursing informatics is “the specialty that integrates nursing science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice” (2019). The above definition or explanation helps to showcase the integration or the merger between the nursing practice and the data/information/knowledge/wisdom continuum. This continuum mainly influences how nurses use information and facts to arrive at their decisions while delivering care to patients.
