Title
The authors selected quite a fitting title for the paper, in that they did not use a very long statement, but one that was precise indicating the key variables of the study along with the target population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012). As such, reading through the title one is able to get a broad picture of what the research entails.
Abstract
The abstract is quite informative, starting off the readers with the brief introduction of the topic and the literature review to establish significance of the problem. The authors then indicate to the readers the research design, results acquired and the conclusion of the study population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012).
Introduction
The introduction starts off with the establishment of the problem within the nursing field. As such, it is quite easy to establish the problem as it is not ambiguous population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012). The argument placed in the introduction is also quite compelling revealing the level of underrepresentation among the minority groups within the population relative to the nursing profession (Feamster, 2013). It is quite crucial to the nursing profession given that the tradition practices are not fitting relative to the representation of the minorities in the profession, even though they are increasing in the population. In light of the research problem and the paradigm used, the approach is fitting in trying to establish the implication relative to raw data population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012).
Hypothesis
In this research, the hypothesis is not specifically stated, however there is a purpose of the study, which is brought out after the literature review.
Literature Review
The literature review is not only up to date but also based on the primary data with an elaborate analysis of the data population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012). The study provides a sound basis for the new study, brings out the gap in the information available and the objectives of the new study.
Conceptual Framework
Although the researchers did not provide a conceptual framework, the concepts behind the research are well established.
Method
Participants' protection
The researchers made sure that the participants were safeguarded as they had their research reviewed by institutional review board to ascertain the ethical elements of the research (Feamster, 2013). As such, the study was designed in a way that it minimized risks and maximized benefits to the participants' population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012).
Research Design
The study used the descriptive correlational survey design, which is quite rigorous population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012). The researchers also made subtle comparisons of the data acquired and described the various elements that they could establish from the data population (Ume-Nwagbo, 2012). In this case the data points used in the study were appropriate as they provide the baseline for the study and objectives stated (Feamster, 2013). The research does not mention the elements of blinding the participants and attrition.
Population and sample
The population is described in detail including the process of recruitment of the participants. However some of the details...
