Problem
In no more than 250 words, describe the problem, who is affected, and the current ramifications. Explain the consequences if the issue continues.

In Brandywine, Maryland, the nurse shortage is the most prevalent issue that needs advocacy through legislation. In particular, nurse shortage is directly associated with poor patient outcomes. Indeed, the problem is patient care. On that note, the problem that influences patients, nurses, the healthcare system, and organizations is caused by the availability of few caregivers who are supposed to take care of a large patient population. In the long run, individuals lose trust and credibility in healthcare facilities. Suppose the issue of nurse shortage in Brandywine remains unaddressed. In that case, hospitals will continue to adversely affect patient care, undermining the primary objective of the healthcare system, which is to promote people's well-being.

Idea for Addressing Solution
In no more than 250 words, outline your idea for addressing the issue and explain why legislation is the best course for advocacy.

Legislation to address the issue of nurse shortage in Brandywine, Maryland, should be implemented since it is the only best strategy that would help to solve the problem once and for all. The caregiver-patient ratio should be predetermined, which varies based on different hospital departments. Even if organizations hired foreign-educated and well-trained nurses to meet the ratio, it would be beneficial for improving patient care (Shaffer, Bakhshi, & Jacobs, 2018). When there are enough caregivers in the healthcare system, patients will receive high-quality healthcare services, and there will be minimal medical errors arising from nurses' burnout or stress. Notably, patients' health outcomes will improve, and numerous individuals in the community will be motivated to visit hospitals when they have a health problem since they know that they will receive the best medical attention and services.
