How are these guidelines similar and different from data collected by nurses when giving care? What principles did you identify that are new to you but could be important in improving your collection of clinical data?
Questionnaires and interviews are the main forms of data collection. Pitting these two against each other to come up with the most suitable technique in a clinical setup is a close call. The major differentiating factor between them however, is the existence of an interviewer in one. While looking at questionnaires, it is important to note that they are generally used when there is a need to obtain information from large sample sizes. The responses expected are usually restricted in most cases, to the question being asked. As a result, it doesn't provide a respondent with the opportunity to ‘wander off' from the initial question.
