Data collection tools are instruments used to capture data. Surveys are examples of the commonly used tools in quantitative and qualitative research. A survey is a loss of questions seeking to extract specific information or data from a targeted group of people. The survey can be conducted either in person, on paper, by phone, or through online communication tools. The problem with surveys is that they hardly produce in-depth responses to pertinent questions. Often, survey questions are standardized, implying that nothing else can be asked apart from the general questions that a broad range of respondents can understand.
