Healthcare is an integral part of the nation's growth and prosperity. It, therefore, needs to be appropriately managed for the best possible outcome amongst the population. However, issues continue plaguing the sector, hampering efforts geared towards providing quality healthcare to the whole population. This, therefore, throws spanners to the works, creating an ongoing situation whereby healthcare is at the mercy of the powers that be and the goodwill of the stakeholders. An area of interest in healthcare is nurse staffing. It continues to be a critical factor often overlooked by the players in the sector (Heiser, 2020).
Nurse staffing should be taken in the same breath as the drugs administered to patients. It can also be equated to the workforce in an organization. With the aging American population, the pressure is on healthcare facilities to accord each patient quality time and care.
