The ABCDE (airway, breathing, circulation, disability, and exposure) is a systematic approach for assessing a critically ill or deteriorating patient. The ABCDE approach is intended to offer early treatment of life-threatening illnesses in priority order, utilizing an organized technique to save the client’s life and attain the initial procedures to health enhancement instead of making a conclusive diagnosis. The first step was airway assessment to determine the airway patency and evaluate the deterioration risk in the client’s ability to safeguard their airways. The second step entailed assessing the breathing function. Assessment of breathing is aimed at detecting manifestations of respiratory challenge or insufficient ventilation. Assessment of circulation is conducted after airway and breathing assessment has been undertaken and adequately managed. The objective of achieving a circulatory system assessment was to determine cardiac output efficacy. The cardiac output describes the volume of blood passing through the heart per minute.
