Overcoming methodological challenges can be quite difficult. However, identifying a good method for analyzing literature can be helpful. Spruce (2015) gives a list of good, quality questions to help with analysis of the literature as well as a table to help with rating the quality of the evidence. She also provides strategies to aid in implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP). Using these quick reference tables and strategies can aid in overcoming methodological barriers and facilitate the implementation of EBP, thereby improving patient outcomes. The challenges of implementing an evidenced-based research protocol are conceptual, financial, ethical, and methodological. Having said that, my task for each of you is:
Choose one of these topics and describe ways to overcome the challenge while producing the best possible outcome for the patient.

The evidence based practice entails the ability of the practitioner to carry out research, find relevant information, and use critical and analytical skills to evaluate literature in order to come up with the most appropriate approach that can help solve the patient's health problems. However, in the process of carrying out evidence based practice, there are several challenges that the practitioners face. One of these challenges includes but not limited to the methodological challenges. The methodological challenges are based on the fact that some of the practitioners lack knowledge and skills on research, which is an essential element of evidence based practice (Spruce, 2015). The other skills that are methodological in nature include the analytical and critical thinking skills which aid the practitioners carry out an evaluation of research methods in order to come up with the most appropriate approach.
To solve these challenges, there is need for continued training programs for the practitioners. The introduction of workshops and training practitioner training programs can help equip the practitioners with the relevant research skills.
