Cloning
Cloning refers to the process or methods used by scientists to create exact copies of living things. The process is ubiquitous in nature and creates a genetic replica of an organism by reproducing the bacteria cells divided into two, thus formulating daughter cells genetically identical to the mother bacterium (Devolder and Gyngell, 2017). Cloning can occur naturally whereby single-cell organisms tend to make exact copies of themselves whenever they reproduce. Before artificial cloning started, animals, plants, and humans would naturally clone; a case in point is the sea animals basically starfish reproduce by cloning, and in humans, it occurs by the production of the monozygotic twins. Notably, this occurs when one embryo splits into two and formulates two or more organisms with similar genetics. Ultimately, cloning was all-natural, and it occurred by embryo splitting up until scientistic developed techniques that facilitated artificial cloning.
At the beginning of 1950s, the scientistic developed several ways and methods to produce clones. The entire process was called the Somatic Nuclear Cell Transfer (SNTC), and it involved the transfer of the somatic cells to the oocyte, also known as the female germ cell. The oocyte is stimulated and made to develop into an embryo with a similar nuclear. In 1997, the sheep Dolly became the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell using the SNTC process (Eiseman, n.d). The cloning of Dolly brought forward the cloning of humans, which made many people, including President Bill Clinton, question the ethical, moral, and legal values. The Cloning of Dolly was not the first cloning done; the process goes back to the 1960s where it w...
