She was elected an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Nursing. Currently, she is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California’s School of Nursing.
2. Vernice Davis Anthony [PDF], RN and CEO and president of the Greater Detroit Area Health Council, is an “unsung hero” for her advocacy and leadership in addressing patient issues for vulnerable populations. Detroit health care leaders credit Anthony with elevating the profile of the 66-year-old Greater Detroit Area Health Council into a strong regional coalition-builder.
3. Tony Robbins - Anthon Jai Robbins is an American author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and life coach. Robbins is known for his infomercials, seminars, and self-help books including Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within. Robbins is the founder of several companies that earn approximately $6 billion in annual sales.

Introduction
Power is the exercise of leadership however leadership is only defined if one has power. As such, there are various people who have influence in the field of health. In the United States, Benner, Davis, and Robbins have greatly influenced the health sector. However, the influence is only meaningful if the leader successfully influences up, down and across the whole sector. Therefore, this paper seeks to summarize the leadership profile of these leaders.
In leadership, words have the power to build people (Soder, 2011). This is witnessed in the various books authored by Benner in addressing issues affecting the health sector. For instance, through her “five levels of proficiency in nursing,” she addresses the levels that nurses must go through to attain proficiency. On the other hand, Vernice Davis offers a voice for the minority, mostly the children. She constantly seeks the betterment of infant and fetal nutrition. As a result, Fontenot (2017) has argued that women are uniquely positioned to leverage traits such as compassion in healthcare.
