The three major regulatory practice models for NPs are Supervisory, Collaborative, and Independent. Each state acts as a representative for each model for instance, the supervisory model represents the state of Florida. The supervisory model involves full practice and collaborative practice for nurse practitioners. An NP that practices in a state that allows independent practice can be able to diagnose, conduct tests, asses and treat a patient the same as what a physician is licensed to do.
