Pre-Test Questionnaire for Nurses

Hello, This is my situation. I am working at DOU (Definitive Observe Unit) as a staff, where one RN takes three patients per shift and needs critical care same as ICU. We are always busy due to the lack of nurse, heavy duty, so always high compassion fatigue, burnout and job dissatisfaction and then high turnover rate. Hospital does not want to spend more money to use more nurses. These are all co-related. i need to find some reasons and solution and hope to try to change this problems with the support of my colleague or manager if I could. Manager and director seem to know this problem, but they do not do anything because hospital does not use more expenses. DOU is the place between Tele and ICU, which is very critical area. My original intention is to have one or two more RNs to work more efficiently as they can work as a resource nurse and break nurse to support and help RN as I prove that the shortage nurse brings lots of problems in both nurses' life and patient care and one more RN will bring lots of benefits for nurses and patient and hospital. Because this will be eventually cost efficient and effective for my facility. Because our numbers of Rn is always so tight and lacking. You can help me to try to find out and apply some solution for my PICOT Question that I really want to figure out and fix this for my floor either with manager or director or other upper management, with whoever can do this.
