My Anatomy
This lesson has taught me a lot about my anatomy. Anatomy is the study of body structure and organs. I now know that every part of my body and organ system requires exercise to function properly. For instance, when I exercise regularly, I improve my heart’s function by allowing it to pump blood effectively and prevent the accumulation of fats inside the arteries that may cause heart complications. This lesson has also taught me that physical exercise and a healthy diet are equally important in building my body structure and organs. I have also realized that regular physical activity can shape my body because the practice targets specific muscle groups. Therefore, I am now aware that maintaining and improving my anatomy requires workouts and a healthy diet.
Favorite Exercise
My favorite exercise is cycling: a low-impact aerobic exercise that helps improve a healthy lifestyle, both physically, emotionally, and mentally. I usually incorporate it into my daily life as an everyday activity or mode of transport. Cycling works as an effective workout option, particularly for individuals who lead a relatively sedentary life. It is a suitable starter exercise to begin a health-conscious lifestyle. Cycling comes with numerous health benefits, including; weight management; reduced risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers; decreased stress levels; improved posture and coordination; increased muscle strength and flexibility; improved joint mobility; and improved mental health. Besides health benefits, I enjoy cycling because I can do it outdoors.
Pilates
Pilates is also a low-impact exercise consisting of controlled movements to improve daily activities and livelihood. In the future, Pilates will help me develop core strength, which is a primary factor in decreasing hip and pack pain. The body’s core muscles are the deep muscles of the back, pelvic floor, and abdomen. These muscles support efficient movement patterns. Pilates will impact my weight positively as it also helps me lose weight. Since Pilates develops strong muscles, it will improve my muscle tone, support my posture, and balance my musculature. These outcomes will make me look and feel very fit. Pilates can be of great help because it is a full-body fitness method. Combined with a healthy diet and aerobic exercise, it becomes a significant weight loss and a body toning method.
