Physician Impact on Patient Satisfaction
The formation of a primary external stakeholder group in my healthcare organization is critical to addressing various issues that adversely affect patient care. When it comes to the decreasing patient satisfaction score, I will request a meeting with doctors since they are among the primary stakeholders in the hospital setting. The discussion during the meeting should be about things that should be done to improve patient satisfaction (Shuaib et al., 2017). Physicians should not be blamed at all due to the decreasing patient satisfaction score, but they should be perceived as the major stakeholders in improving it.
Some of the challenges that might be encountered include physicians’ perceptions that the score is inaccurate, patients’ failure to comprehend doctors’ issues, and long wait times (Godley & Jenkins, 2019). As such, physicians need to be convinced that the most significant thing is to raise the score.
