Today, patients do not have to pay frequent visits to the infirmary to see a physician. With the advent of wearable devices, a patient can have a physician or a nurse monitor their health remotely. Wearable devices monitor the vital signs of a patient and transmit the information collected to the physicians and nurses, who are then able to act upon the data received. Nurses and other healthcare professionals are thus able to dispense targeted care to patients and thus be able to save more lives.
