The influence that patient education has on their wellbeing is of great significance. The healthcare professional that is coming in contact with the patient needs to teach each and everything to the patient regarding their condition to avoid any mishaps. In this essay, an interview is conducted in which an old adult patient is asked all the relevant questions, and the conclusion is concluded according to the gathered information and personal perception.
Discussion
The questions that were asked were simple and tended to provide all the relevant knowledge regarding the topic of interest. The patient was promised confidentiality, therefore; any personal information is not mentioned apart from the fact that the patient was a 55-year-old male. The detailed interview is mentioned below:
1 First, the patient was asked whether their education representative give them the instructions on how to take care of themselves after their operation?
To this question, the patient responded that although the representative did give them some tips, it was quite brief and uttered fast. Because of which patient flunked to understand half of the knowledge and faced issues when it comes to doing the instructions. The patient further added that he did his research regarding his condition which helps him. However, it would be better if the healthcare professional spares some more time on the patient. This concludes that for the improvement of health outcomes, it is necessary for the healthcare professional to be more enthusiastic and responsive to their patients (Paterick, Patel, Tajik & Chandrasekaran, 2017).
