Introduction
Coronavirus has significantly affected older adults in the United States. Both social and physical influences contribute to the effects of Coronavirus. For instance, the elderly do not have a strong immune, and as a result, they are highly vulnerable to contagious illnesses (Meng et al., 2020). Also, the elderly have a high probability of contracting chronic diseases such as kidney failure, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. Such illnesses weaken their bodies’ ability to fight contagious diseases.
Problem Statement
“The fear of contracting Coronavirus has significantly affected the social and physical behaviors of the elderly in the United States.”
Null Hypothesis
The null hypothesis for the current problem is stated as; Coronavirus has no significant effects among the elderly in America
Alternative Hypothesis
The alternative hypothesis is stated as Coronavirus has substantial effects among the elderly in America
Purpose of the Study
The study examining the impacts of Coronavirus among the elderly in America is essential. For instance, it will create awareness that family members should take care of the elderly by ensuring that they remain indoors during the pandemic. Also, it will prompt the elderly to feed on healthy foods. Moreover, the research will prompt the government to prevent people from frequently visiting their elderly family members, to prevent the spread of the disease. Furthermore, the research findings will cause medical practitioners to implement new methods of providing care to elderly patients with chronic illnesses, such that they do not contract coronavirus. Also, for elderly patients with COVID19, medical practitioners will be able to execute plans on how to provide adequate care to them, thus preventing more deaths.
