Conclusion In one or more paragraphs, explain your personal opinion on the controversy. You may focus on whatever you think is an important aspect of the controversy: causes or consequences or responses. This is your opportunity to stretch out and express yourself, but only after you have shown that you understand the issue, and the thinking behind the opinions you disagree with.
Reference List Immediately below the conclusion, provide a complete list of references, in alphabetical order, that includes all of your sources. The reference list cannot include sources that you do not actually cite in the body paragraphs of your essay. The citations must match the corresponding references using author names. The coronavirus pandemic is a controversial issue that has made countries to come up with different policies to curb its spread. As COVID-19 enters numerous territories, many nations closed education institutions and non-essential businesses. However, as the time elapses, some countries are reconsidering lifting lockdowns, reopening schools and businesses, and banning cessation of movements. These decisions are not made since coronavirus has been eradicated, but governments want to caution their economies. Some countries are reconsidering reopening schools and businesses since many people are suffering behind closed doors as they are encouraged to stay at home to combat COVID-19 spread.
Betsey Stevenson, an economist from Michigan University, asserted that the ability of the United States of America (USA) to reopen its economy depends on how better Americans understand the risk of coronavirus (Tankersley, 2020). When the USA reported the first few cases of COVID-19 infection, various sectors were shut down to curb the spread of the disease. Nevertheless, today, over 1.6 million Americans are affected, and more than 98,000 people have died. In other words, the country should decide what to do before many individuals continue to lose their jobs as the rate of infection continues to spike.
Based on a Politico Magazine, the answer to the question of when the USA will reopen its economy depends on how the Donald Trump administration weighs the economy against the public health (Wilkinson, 2020). The USA president has been having mixed thoughts about lifting restrictions that had been set to combat the spread of coronavirus to save the economy. However, doing so will only expose more Americans to COVID-19, where some of them will succumb to the disease.
