A nurse manager plays key management roles in coordinating the nursing activities in the health care facilities. The leaders ensure safe and effective delivery of nursing care services to meet the patient needs. The managers also steer changes in the health care system through advocating for new developments. The leader should have professional management skills in managing the sector and influencing the staff to initiate changes in the workplace. However, a nurse leader has strengths and weaknesses in managing the healthcare sector.
Personal and Professional Accountability
This involves personal progress and development, principled conduct and exercise, professional relationship and qualifications. Personally, I am dedicated to my responsibilities as a nurse manager, and prioritize my patient needs. I am also eager to learn and acquire knowledge to improve my managerial skills. I also advocate for high moral ethics in the profession according to the requirements of the nursing code of conduct (Lerner, 2013).
Unfortunately, I speed to complete duties, thus pushing other staff members. I am also unable to multi-task, balancing work and learning. This gives me a challenge in advancing my education because of lack of stress management strategies. Some code of ethics in the profession conflict with my personal life. I also do not clearly understand some codes (Lerner, 2013).
Career Planning
This domain involves understanding your job description or requirements, understanding and forecasting your vision. My strength is that I have a degree in nursing, and a trained registered nurse. I also desire to further my education in nursing and major in nursing management field. Unfortunately, I am a poor time manager. My program is very tight, thus it is difficult to plan for my studies (Lerner, 2013).
Personal Journey Disciplines
This entails knowledge on common expertise, management of committees, exploiting knowledge and insightful exercise. My strength is that I give people an opportunity to give their views, and embrace common leadership. However, my weakness is that I am impatient. I also assume that the team leaders should take full responsibility of the team and deliver to the nursing expectations (Lerner, 2013).

My strength is that I have a high degree of integrity at workplace, and encourage my colleagues to emulate this principle.
