As a nurse leader, it is important to understand a variety of leadership models and styles. This will help you adapt to different settings and apply strategies to support and inspire others. It may also be necessary to apply models in different professional settings to satisfy certification requirements.
This assignment is composed of two parts, a graphic organizer and a written paper.
Part I: Graphic Organizer
Research five leadership models and styles. One model must be transformational leadership.
Design a graphic organizer to compare servant leadership with the other models. Consider how these models or styles bring about organizational, team, or individual change or growth. How do leaders implement each of the models and how do they fit with your personal beliefs?
Part II: Personal Model of Leadership Paper
Write a 1,000-1,250 word paper about your personal model of leadership, including the following:
(1) How may your personal model of leadership be applied in your professional setting?
(2) How does your personal model of leadership compare to the models you researched for the graphic organizer?
(3) Does your personal model follow the lines of servant leadership or transformational leadership?
Submit the graphic organizer and paper to your instructor.

Student’s Name Institution Course Date MODELS OF LEADERSHIP: HIGH LEVELS OF COMMUNICATION PART I Transformational model is a leadership model that depends on high levels of communication in an organization. In this model, leaders are supposed to motivate their team members using effective communication and visibility (Sendjaya, 2015). In this model leaders also delegate duties and focuses on the motivation of their employees. Transformational leadership is recommended to those leaders who can transform employees through their own charisma. For example, most political leaders possess transformational leadership (Abdulwahed, & Hasna, 2017). On the other hand transactional is a reward based leadership whereby managers and employees have predetermined goals, although the management does review performance and reward the best achievers. This model of leadership restricts creativity among the team members. In autocratic leadership, leaders make decisions alone and managers have total authority. This type of leadership model is recommended for organizations whose operations need close supervision but creativity is encouraged among team members. Servant leadership believes that leaders or managers are supposed to serve the employees for their growth and well being. An example of such leaders is King Luther, Mother Teresa (Parolini, 2012). Lastly, laissez-faire is a type of leadership model where employees are supervised directly and there are no regular feedbacks. This type of leadership is recommended for employees who have experience. The outcomes of this type of leadership are poor production and performance, lack of control and high costs. PART II Personal Model of Leadership The best leadership style for nursing is transformational leadership. This is because in the field of nursing, teamwork is highly encouraged in order to achieve the goals of the patients and certification (Parolini, 2012). This type of leadership style is highly recommended because every member of a professional team has some significant inputs that can contribute and bring forth treatments plans. This means that this approach helps nurses to bring their insights on the table and this is an important element for the success of their plans. Professionally transformational leadership is the best leadership approach because it assists the team players to make significant contributions to the treatment plans. This leadership style assists nurses to achieve the objectives of the team. Transformational leadership is the main ingredient when establishing a nursing environment. This is because health care institutions focus on motivating their employees by meeting the following; safety, love, belonging, and esteem. For example, when nurses are compensated appropriately, they normally feel that their psychological needs are met through a secured work environment and strategies that are able to promote a sense of belonging among them. Transformational leadership depends on high levels of management (Abdulwahed, & Hasna, 2017).
