There are a number of requirements that have to be met for an individual to be accepted under the NJ Medicaid program. Some of the requirements include the provision of information on the individual’s income, what a person owns, a list of living expenses and documents containing information on the power of attorney, settlements, health insurance and a third party signature. The provision of this information is important as it proves whether an individual requires assistance in meeting their medical requirements (Kaplan & Barbara, 2015).
For the categories of low-income adults, the introduction of Medicaid has been beneficial to low income earners, as the government now pays at least half of their medical service cost. In addition, the program has reduced the number of uninsured individuals who have been shifting the burden to their employers (Normandin & Karen, 2010).
Pregnant women and the aging/blind/disabled
In particular, the Medicaid program has benefited many people as it provides coverage for the aged, disabled, blind, pregnant women and citizens with low income. Individuals who qualify for the service are entitled to most health coverage with the exception of prescriptions, inpatient hospital care, chiropractic and podiatry services.
