An organization is usually founded by teamwork and cooperation. The productivity of a given group often hinges very heavily on its ability to successfully harnessing positive energy out of its employees. There are some instances, however, when resentment crops into the organization. This might be caused by dissatisfaction in some quarters of the entity. The problem with resentment is that it is extremely negatively productive. The result of resentment is that it gives birth to more and more resentment. It poses the threat of tearing an organization apart. This would call for a change in tact from the leadership to solve it. Servant leadership is particularly important in that it can help in the transformation of the negative energy created by resentment, into something positive, thereby eradicating resentment. This is usually achieved through understanding what mainly is meant by servant leadership.
There are various forms of leadership that an organization can take up, depending on how much authority or power is vested in the leader. In almost all of the forms of leadership, the leader always comes first. In servant leadership, the interests of the staff come first (Petrilli, n.d.).A servant leader acknowledges and places the needs and interests of his or her employees before his or her own. The servant leader usually takes every employee as equal and deserving equal treatment, thereby not placing some degree of favoritism or bias while dealing with them (Efron, 2015).
