This week, I was able to experience a patient that was pregnant for the first time (primigravida). During the course of her labor, the patient suffered 2nd-degree lacerations, which is caused by the strenuous stretching of her labia. Fortunately, the lacerations did not result in any other complications due to the effective and timely intervention of the practitioners present there. Nonetheless, during the pregnancy, the mother had a difficult time at first during labor and delivery.
