Applying a model or framework for change ensures that a process is in place to guide the efforts for change. In 500-750 words, discuss the model or framework you will use to implement your evidence-based practice proposal project. You will use the model or framework you select in the Topic 8 assignment, during which you will synthesize the various aspects of your project into a final paper detailing your evidence-based practice project proposal.
Include the following:
-Identify the selected model or framework for change and discuss its relevance to your project.
-Discuss each of the stages in the change model/framework.
-Describe how you would apply each stage of the model or theoretical framework in your proposed implementation.
Create a concept map for the conceptual model or framework you selected to illustrate how it will be applied to your project. Attach this as an appendix at the end of your paper.
You are required to cite minimum of four peer-reviewed sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.

Kurt Lewin’s Change Model and Its Stages
Bakaria et al. (2017) explained the characteristics of Lewin’s Change Model. Kurt Lewin laid the foundations of Planned Organizational Change. As a social scientist, the man dedicated himself to the processes underlying the theoretical and practical applications of organizational change in literature. The Change Model allows for the maximum or optimum changes that will improve the organization by providing the leader a framework to execute a change effort. The model was designed to entertain the concerns of all the stakeholders while gradually applying the modifications (Wojciechowski et al., 2016).
The project challenges the current practice guidelines on the treatment of acute bronchitis. The American Family Physician strongly advises against an antibiotic prescription for upper respiratory tract infections, such as acute bronchitis. This gained a level A recommendation. Moreover, the organization recommended over-the-counter medications for acute cough (Kinkade & Long, 2016). The data were also supported by Malo et al. (2016). Thus, this model helps unfreeze the current practices and view the significance of antibiotic use for acute bronchitis. When the evidence suggests that it is deemed effective as a sole or combination treatment, then refreezing the results together with the concerns of other stakeholders must be done.
Stages of the Model
It consists of three steps which are based on the Field Theory in Social Science. These steps are unfreezing, changing, and refreezing, respectively. Unfreezing refers to the modifications in the current situation and presents perturbations to the current balance in the organization, including its practices, mission, and vision. This step requires the evaluation of the strengths and threats of the stakeholders. The threats are significant since their analysis can lead to strategies that can influence the conditions that resist the impending changes.
