Moutvic (2019) illustrates that individuals who endure tailbone pain are likely to experience discomfort when executing their daily chores. For instance, Dr. Margaret Moutvic, a physician attached to the Mayo Clinic, avers that pain sustained at the coccyx can make menstruation uncomfortable for women. Besides, it can make sex and the defecation process painful. Diagnosing tailbone pain can sometimes be difficult because it tends to mimic the symptoms of other disorders, such as sciatica, pinodial cysts, or sacroiliitis. Both genders are likely to experience tailbone pain since they are prone to the risk of falling or poor sitting postures.
Construction workers, children, and aged persons are at risk of developing problems related to tailbone pain. The continuous increase in risk-taking behaviors among men in occupations is a factor that explains why men are more susceptible to experiencing tailbone pain than females.
