The practice of nursing requires a holistic approach. Meaning, the objectives do not solely focus on healthcare per se but tackle other factors, including humanities, social sciences, and science and technology. This approach aligns with our course objectives, as evidenced by the topics included in the syllabus. This paper shall dissect the course outcomes and relate these to the specific subjects elaborated in class.
The first program outcome integrates knowledge from other fields to aid in decision-making in the nursing practice. This is related to the ethical and legal aspects of nursing as this is a separate field that incorporates humanities to sociology (Silva et al., 2018). Nurses should know how to build rapport and trust in various settings and prevent legal consequences throughout practice.
The second outcome aims to deliver high-quality patient care with cultural competence and evidence-based practice as the key factors. One of the most notable topics included was cultural diversity as a global problem.
