Introduction The gastrointestinal (GI) system is used to absorb and digest the consumed food in the body. The gastrointestinal tract comprises of a deep muscular tube that starts from the mouth and covers the areas of pharynx, esophagus, stomach, intestine, colon and rectum. The GI diseases include the ailment of the GI tract, i.e. stomach, colon, rectum, esophagus, and small intestine. There are various symptoms of GI disorders such as diarrhea, nausea, esophagus, indigestion, constipation, heartburn, bloating, and abdominal pain. GI disorders are considered as the most widespread diseases. Some of the common diseases include peptic ulcer, delayed gastric emptying, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel syndrome (Greenwood-Van Meerveld, Johnson, & Grundy, 2017). It is very essential to learn about the gut physiology in a very keen manner to conduct basic research to develop the new therapeutics, which are required on an urgent basis. Inflammatory Bowel Disorder and Irritable Bowel Syndrome Inflammatory bowel disorder (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are normally considered as separated conditions. IBD is known as a usual biological disease while IBS is known as gut function abnormality. However, IBD and IBS are two distinctive conditions but there are some corresponding processes (Barbara, Cremon, & Stanghellini, 2014). IBD and IBS are very common disorders and it is necessary to know basic information about such disorders. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a bowel disorder in which a patient experience consistent abdominal pain because of change in a bowel movement. There are two types of IBS disorders, i.e. diarrhea and constipation. About 10% of the worldwide adult population is effected with such disorder (Holtmann, Ford, & Talley, 2016). Generally, the disease is identified by common symptoms and it is investigated by a specific series of tests.
