1 Student will develop a process improvement proposal about early dysphagia screening for presentation to key stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and patients.
The process improvement proposal will answer the question: In newly diagnosed stroke patients, does early dysphagia screening help in reducing the risk of aspiration pneumonia? This will help establish whether early dysphagia screening improves the clinical outcomes of stroke patients. This information is helpful not only to healthcare professionals but also to policymakers and patients and will be shared with them. 
2 Student will develop a pre/post-test evaluation tool to gather information about the impact of early dysphagia screening.
           A pre/post-test evaluation tool will allow the student to assess the impact of early dysphagia screening. An evaluation of stroke patients’ risk of aspiration pneumonia will be conducted before early dysphagia screening, and another one will be conducted after early dysphagia screening. The post-test results will be examined and compared to the pre-test results to establish whether the expected change in stroke patients took place. The expected change is that the risk of aspiration pneumonia will decrease after the early dysphagia screening intervention is implemented. This is in line with the study by Palli et al. (2017), which found that early dysphagia screening reduces the risk of aspiration pneumonia and the length of hospitalization among stroke patients. 
3 Student will create a patient education program about dysphagia screening and dysphagia prevention interventions for patients to enhance patient adherence to dysphagia recommendations.
