Improvements in the Manufacturing Industry versus Health Care Industry
Like in all the other economic industries, healthcare serves to provide the best services to its broad customer base and always strive to come up with innovative ways of achieving this goal. Healthcare facilities are also driven by revenue creation facilitated by satisfied customers or patients for this case and are wary of their reactions or feedback from their service delivery. The industry is not immune to complaints and compliments from the broad client base and hence have no option but to follow in the footsteps of the manufacturing industry. The standardization techniques employed in the manufacturing industry prove to be highly effective on achievements made by the sector players. The healthcare industry is incorporating the same measures to quality service delivery in hospitals and other facilities in the sector. A significant difference between the two sectors exists that questions the viability of the standardization techniques or innovations in the healthcare industry. Manufacturing industry mainly deals with machines such as cars, airplanes, and a range of other products used by humanity to make work easier. Health care industry, on the other hand, deals with the lives of human beings which do not have an automated design of attending to their required or necessary needs at a given moment. Though there exist some challenges in the actualization stage, the standardization processes can bring substantial transformation in the healthcare industry that will beneficial to both the facilities and the patients.
It is without any doubt that at the peak of civilization manufacturing industry set the pace in inventions and innovative measures aimed at making the processes much more manageable while still meeting the recommended standards. As the industry evolved, so did the quest to produce advanced products meeting the equally increased demand for higher quality products by the end users. The manufacturing industry is thus on an upward trajectory in regards to service delivery and customer satisfaction through comprehensive quality improvement techniques. The advancing technology also serves as a valuable addition to the sector as it enjoys the luxury of automating most of its activities. The principles used in the manufacturing industry allows a specific industry to fairly compete in the sector by impacting a joint development initiative on the entire workforce involved in the whole production process. Similarly, the healthcare industry boasts of significant strides over the past years and continues to make substantial breakthroughs within its wide range of sectors. It is a broad industry that consists of various fields tasked with enhancing human life by sharing among them the common curative factor to people's distinct medical or health care needs (Marcinko, 2011). Amidst the complications arising from the fact that the process of providing healthcare needs consists of different practitioners under the same roof, the standardization techniques can have a positive effect on running the daily activities in a given health center.
A typical day in a healthcare service center entails having some patients each having unique health complications that require different evaluations and tests running for different durations.
