Planning evidence-based practice (EBP) implementation is a systematic process that requires nurses or other healthcare providers to consider the most influential components and integrate them into the process. Cassidy et al. (2021) indicate that a thorough understanding of the healthcare system at the basic level remains fundamental for promoting the uptake of a practice. Such an approach enables a practitioner to gain a clear awareness of the structure of an institution or department receiving the EBP practice and the supporting leadership, culture, and available resources for its success.
Understanding the fundamental elements that promote EBP implementation is critical in any context. As a result, the institution’s structure dictates the leadership’s supportive nature and willingness to embrace changes. Kitson et al.
