Medical billing uses these codes to create claims presented to insurance providers (Green, 2018). Medical billing and coding play a vital role in ensuring healthcare providers receive proper reimbursement for services rendered.
Proper documentation is essential for medical billing and coding for several reasons. Correct documentation validates that specific procedures were carried out (Wang, 2017). This becomes very useful in case the organization faces claim rejection from the insurance company.
