In my clinical day, i have a patient with Lung Cancer. I think this is for number 4 question Lung Cancer, pathophysiology for medical diagnosis. In general, nurses have the same responsibilities but their setting which they operate differentiates these roles. In a hospital; setting the nurses are responsible for individual health statuses of the patients while those in a home setting are responsible for a group of people. Secondly, hospital nurses are concerned with factors that affect people such diseases like Flus while home nurses are responsible for educating the community on health issues as well as investigating disease patterns.
Although nurses in general share several attributes, home nurses have additional qualities and characteristics besides the independence that they experience as they directly engage with patients in their homes. One of the quality is respectfulness where home nurses have to respect and honor the wishes of the patients which is not in a clinical setting. The second one is tactfulness, if the patients resist to take medicines or any therapies at the required time, the nurse has to be tactful and persuasive in a manner that does not annoy the patients. The last quality I observed is flexibility since the nurse operates in a wide range of settings. The patients come with different needs and expectations and all of these has to be met by the nurse.
Nurses should have the authority to make decisions as well as the freedom of adhering to the ethical standards of the profession. The home care R.N is accountable for all own actions and any professional conduct. They nurse is responsible for assessin...
